Pewter is a prized metal alloy used by our craftsmen to produce Loyfar’s pewter collections. Our pewter comprises a composition of 95% tin and silver, with a small percentage of copper and antimony added to harden the malleable tin alloy.
All our materials are in compliance with general safety rules and meet with EU safety and regulatory standards. Our products are free of lead and nickel, and certified safe for food contact.
The finishing techniques applied to Loyfar pewter products are in accordance with the design perspective of the themes. Some are highly polished to reflect a shiny, contemporary finish while others have a satin matt lustre to enhance the intricacies of our nature inspired motifs. Using the process of jewellery enamel painting unleashes a vibrant burst of colours to our designs.
To maintain pewter, wash the products with warm soapy water, rinse well and dry with a soft cloth. Unlike silver, pewter does not tarnish or corrode. However, over time it may dull a little to reflect its characteristic natural patina. Pewter may be polished with a soft cloth in straight lines using any high grade silver polish.
Inspired by his surroundings and the beauty of nature, Loyfar’s work combines an adaptation of free-form shapes together with jewellery making skills to create highly decorative yet functional works of art in pewter.
With a keen eye for detail, Loyfar ensures that only the finest pieces of pewter that attract the visual senses are designed and crafted in the manufacturing facility in Chiangmai, North Thailand. To date, Loyfar Collection prides in having over 4,000 designs in its ensemble of collections, each distinct and celebrating handmade craftsmanship.
